The Frist Week of Advent- Hope

"The Christ Child's Hope"

As you sleep, from a distance we watch and stare,

Hearts and minds full of what you will be.

We know you grow up strong and wise,

To walk your Father's path.

We have waited for you far too long,

But now you have come.

Not as we would have expected,

But with the same results.

In your small hands our destinies lay,

In you hope resides.

We are awash in filth and stained,

Clouded and dim our world once was.

You have come, light has been shed,

Hope restored.

God with us, so small and frail,

Victor of peace, life's true King.

Light into darkness,

Love for hate, forgiveness not blame.

You, Christ Child, are our hope,

Reconciled, adopted and embraced we are.

You came once, come again,

Our hope realized.

Come, Lord Jesus,

Come.

It was great doing these readings with you yesterday Chip.

Also you might want to change the title to "First Week" :)
